A Sunday Morning Dutch Baby

Our go-to recipe on Sunday mornings. Eat with butter and syrup, raspberry jam, or fresh fruit. Adults and kids, approved!

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup milk (I used 2 %, but use any type you have)

2 eggs

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 tsp salt

2 tablespoons butter

Preheat oven at Bake to 425 degrees. Place a cast-iron pan in the oven to heat. Use a middle rack and remove the top rack, as the dutch baby with puff as it bakes.

Add all ingredients, except for the butter, in a blender. Blend on high and wipe down sides to make sure all flour is incorporated.

Set aside batter aside for 10 minutes while pan is heating. You want the pan to be hot when you add the batter.

When the pan is hot, remove from the oven and swirl the butter in to coat the bottom and sides of the pan.

Add the batter to the buttered pan. Place in the oven and bake for about 15-20 minuted based on desired brownness.

Take out of the oven. At this point, I dust mine with powdered sugar and cut into pieces and serve with toppings of your choice. Topping ideas include: mixed berries, butter and syrup, jam or compote. Enjoy!
